Chevrolet recently announced their new project of building an electric powered Chevrolet Cruzes by the end of this October. A 150kw/201hp electric motor with 31-kwh battery mounted under the body will be powering the Chevrolet Cruze EV and is said to be able to produce 8.2 seconds 0-100km/h and a top speed of 165km/h.
Speaking of electric powered car, this new Chevrolet Cruze EV will have 160km range of distance per charge and can be recharged using standard 220v socket for about 8-10 hours. “Quick charge” system is also prepared in case for emergency for development purpose, still.
All experiment will be done at Seoul, South Korea before going into the market. General Motors’s Cruze EV is a joint venture project with GM Daewoo, LG Chem and LG Electronics.
“Although there is much more work to be done, our ability to develop this vehicle in less than a year offers a peek at the very promising plans we have for our customers in Korea and around the world,” said Mike Arcamone, GM Daewoo President and CEO.
