Skoda Australia has announced their new 2010 Skoda Superb Wagon to be available after last year’s unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show. The arrival was less than a year after local launch of Skoda Superb, the sedan/hatch version.

Frond view for Skoda Superb Wagon is identical to the sedan with the face dominated by vertical slotted grille across the range. As for interior, multi function four spoke leather sterring wheel fitted with DSG automatic transmission, including gear shift paddles behind the wheel.

As identical to the sedan version, this wagon is mechanically powered by three direct injected powertrains starting with 118kW/250Nm turbocharged 1.8 litre TSI petrol to the 125kW 2.0 TDI turbodiesel and the range-topping 191kW/350Nm 3.6 litre V6. All engines are equipped with the VW-sourced twin-clutch DSG automatic transmission, with the 1.8 TSI receiving the latest seven-speed unit and the 2.0 TDI and 3.6 FSI getting the six-speed DSG.
With 633 litres of rear storage space, and up to 1865 litres with the rear seats folded down, making Skoda Superb Wagon as spacious compared to Sedan one which is 565 litres with the rear seats up, and 1670 litres when folded down the seats. Electrically operated tailgate is also offered optionally which includes automatic retractable luggage compartment cove, and optional false boot floor luggage compartment.
Standard safety features including nine curtain airbags, ESP fitted as standard requirement, together along with anti-lock braking and anti slip regulation, and a dual rate brake booster to cut braking distance even better.

The Ambition 118TSI variant of Superb Wagon carries a plus of $2000 premium over the entry-level Ambition 118TSI sedan version one. Officially, the 3.6 V6 version covers 6.6 seconds of sprint from 0-100km/h, while 8.6 for 1.8 FSI and 8.8 for 2.0 TDI. Fuel consumption for the 1.8 is 7.5 l/100km while the diesel uses 6.91/100km and 3.6 FSI consume 10.4 l/100km.
