
PROTON Holdings Bhd is strengthening its presence in the industry of local automotive model through multi-purpose (MPV) Exora, will produce another new model sedan by July next, with the introduction of price around RM80, 000 per unit. Model which will replace the Waja and said able to increase more market share in Proton local automotive industry and international, will display a copy of version Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT is upgraded.
According to the nearest source, re-entry ‘feature Mitsubishi’dalam Proton is the result of cooperation development engineering Proton and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), which also shares holders.

The source explained, the new production model with 1.8 liter engine power is viewed best catalyst for companies in the automotive nasionalitu meet changing needs and appetite buyer, especially to young generation. He said, Proton is getting strong support from MMC, is not expected to encounter any problems in meeting demand, since the Waja replacement model will be installed in the same factory at Shah Alam, Selangor or in Tanjung Malim, Perak.
“Looking to the agreement between Proton and MMC will not be a problem for Proton to assemble, sell and providing after sales services for Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT Malaysia version.
“This is because MMC has been providing ‘license’ to support technically Proton for using, including installing and, promoting Lancer 2.0 GT will use the Proton brand,” he also added ‘licensing’ includes assistance in releasing components for Lancer 2.0 GT and local support and after sales services.
Currently, the existing model Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT fully imported (CBU) from Japan, is priced at RM120, 598.10 without insurance in this country. Model is distributed by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Ltd. MMC is a technical partner and shareholder of Proton when founded in 1983 until the national car manufacturer Proton releases their first car in 1985. However, a group of Japanese financial turmoil causes dispose of it at stake in Proton early 2004.

very disapointed at MMC being “selling” this very competative model to Proton.
feel very shamefaced of the action by Proton of being step backward……

if get more cheaper no probs, we all can try but compare with import cars .the import cars more cheaper then malaysian cars coz of tax. people are looking for the cheapers car ,pls to inform to proton company try to redues the car price thank u
