2010 Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept

Cadillac recently quite successful in ditching his old man’s car image, headed by hip-hop is popular Escalade SUV and sharply styled CTS sport sedan. But some remnants of its conservative past remains so as the DTS, which seems stuck in the 90 years, and fully synchronized with the new image is Caddy.

For Detroit, GM’s luxury brand, says the concept Platinum XTS, the big car applications “Cadillac Art & Science” design language, which would complete the transformation of the brand should replace the STS / DTS. It’s pretty much the big brother CTS – the same sharp, angular lines, but with more restrictions.

XTS is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 with direct injection paired with a plug-in hybrid system, which is estimated to produce 350 horsepower and 400 Nm. Concept uses AWD chassis. XTS ‘Magnetic Ride Control uses shocks controlled by magneto-rheological tech, rather than mechanical valves, which govern the body control and ride comfort.

Like the current Platinum Edition Caddys, the concept interior is full of hand-cut-and-sewn materials. XTS injects more contemporary forms and themes into the cabin, including the use of organic LED displays instead of traditional gauges and screens, which contrasts with warm wood trim. “We envisioned this concept as a car passenger headquarters using modern technology to a new level of connectivity and luxury,” says Bryan Nesbitt, GM’s Cadillac.
