Proton received good response of bookings at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2009 held in Bangkok from 2-13 December 2009. The Proton holding order book were filled with over 1,388 bookings from total of 25,220 orders placed at the expo event. This recorded higher booking figure than all other brand excluding Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Mazda and Mitsubishi, which in case, not bad at all in the automotive market.
The Proton Exora’s debut in Thailand International Motor Expo 2009 was the best selling Proton model with 825 bookings, which is almost 60% of the total orders. The next one goes to Proton Savvy, with 270 units. Proton Exora MPV is priced starting from 700,000 bath in Thailand, while the Savvy one starts from 399,000 bath. Proton Persona CNG, which is powered by compressed natural gas, also got 155 orders in the event.
Proton was first entered the Thai market in 2007 and successful to placed itself among top car brand in passenger car.
