SUVs are out, but urban vehicles embodying similar virtues without the unnecessary off-roading skills are still on the rise. The latest from Ssangyong, Ssangyong’s C200, debuting at the Seoul Motor Show. A ‘compact urban vehicle (CUV),” that the name to their C200 and will enter into production at the end of the year.

This C200 are closely to the Toyota RAV4 in overall size. The vehicle was designed by Giugaro’s ItalDesign firm. Monocoque construction and extensive use of aluminum in the suspension mean that decent handling is likely. Monocoque construction and extensive use of aluminum in the suspension mean that decent handling is likely.

This Ssangyong’s C200 comes three choice of engine. A choice of 175-horsepower 2.0 liter turbodiesel or 1.8 liter gasoline engines is available in the C200 Aero, while the C200 Eco features a diesel-hybrid engine. A choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions is available, and the vehicle can be had with front- or four-wheel drive. At the Seoul Motor Show, shows the C200 Aero version in a dark purple shade, with several body refinements, starting with the bumper. The front end now has a body colored bumper, better incorporated (and more realistic) fog lights, and bolder definition.  The grille and air intake have been redesigned as well. New side sills flow well with the better-crafted side panels and the pointier side mirrors. We also like the new wheels, huge pre-drilled discs, and rear spoiler.

This C200 steps up to become one the lightest and smallest vehicles in Ssangyong’s lineup, with a compact 4.4 meter overall length. Hopefully, this vehicle will look like actual in a fair representation.
