The new third generation of Lexus RX350 was unveiled, with the distributor of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd expecting the first year car sales to be almost doubled than the number of it;s predecessor archived in nearly two years of time. The total of 67 units of second generation of RX350 sports utility vehicle (SUV) were sold since April 2007 and the third generation latest one should be getting the sales of at least 105 unit from now until the end of this year.
“We are confident given the outcome of the market survey done previously and the initial response prior to the launch. As of yesterday (Wednesday), we collected 15 orders. We find ourselves in challenging economic circumstances, yet there will be a segment of customers who have the means and demand the perfect blend of quality, safety and performance to stay one step ahead of time,” the president, Kuah Kock Heng said.
The 3.5-litre RX350 are selling at RM377,000 without insurance, about RM4,000 higher than its predecessor and slightly more expensive than its two main rival of previous models. Compared that the previous one, this new SUV is almost the same size with slight dimensional increase and upgrades.
