
The Proton company will be the 7th manufacturer to join in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) full time with the joint of Proton Neo Super 2000 rally car to IRC after manufacturers such Abarth, Honda, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Skoda and Volkswagen.
The Satria Neo S2000 are equipped with 2.0 liter engine derived from Renault’s 1.8 liter from the Waja series, and puts out 278 horsepower (HP) at 7,600rpm. It got it’s first rally drive by Bryan Bouffier and Xavier Panseri in Rallye Antibes Cote d’Azur leg of 2008 European Rally Championship in South France.
The new Satria Neo S2000 has already get a good feedback after a short while and Proton has no doubt to find success with the competitive rally customers on the events based on the car’s techical regulation. It was also the good idea to be in IRC as to showcase products around the world along with the leading manufacturers in motorsport.
