39,771 of Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander car models are recalled back by the NHTSA and Mitsubishi for an issue with the braking system of both of the car. The brake booster check valve was made of the wrong composition of materials, which may cause the check valve to stick closed when the engine is shut off.

When the Lancer or Outlander are turned back to be driven, there may not be enough braking assistance, which increase the stopping distance and could be leading to to a car crash. There will no need for insurance claim for the recall, however, the owner of both these models are told to call Mitsubishi at 1-800-222-0037 or bring their vehicle to the nearest Mitsubishi dealership for free replacement of the valve for their car.
